Interview with COO of Fintropy

To introduce our COO to you we did a small interview with him. We hope you will enjoy it!

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself and your experience in this field.

I have been working in the IT and Internet industry for almost 30 years. During this time, I was the leader of several projects. Among them are an information system for supporting the operational activities of telecommunications companies, broadband Internet, digital television. In particular, I headed the technical and IT department of the first in Russia and one of the first in Europe projects of mass broadband access based on ADSL technology. In various projects, I performed the functions of CIO, CTO, COO. I’ve worked with such hardware vendors as Cisco, Motorola, Broadcom, Marvell. I took part in organizing the coordination center for Russian national domains, for almost 15 years I was on the Council of this organization, for two years I was the Chairman of Council. For several years I have been a member of the Board of EURALO (European Association of Internet Users), representing this organization in ICANN. I was a member of various task forces on telecom and IT regulation.

2. With the growing number of new projects, why did you chose Fintropy?

Oh, it’s very simple. Fintropy is a very young project. There are two main points in such projects. Team and idea. If there is an interesting idea and a strong team is recruited, then only an unfortunate coincidence of circumstances, something from the field of force majeure, can hinder the success of the project. The rest is in the hands of the team. I chose the team. Fintropy’s team has strong, creative, professional people, many of whom I have known for a long time. And I, having received an offer to join the team, almost without hesitation accepted it.

3. Is it your first experience in the blockchain industry?

Yes. In this particular area, Fintropy is my first project. But the blockchain industry and web 3.0, in general, have been in my focus for a long time. And although most of the time I was engaged in telecom and web 2.0 services, in recent years I realized that there is relatively little new in this area. And something new that appears (for example, 5G, which is more likely a continuation of previous versions of mobile communications), can only develop in large mobile operators since it requires serious investments in infrastructure. And the Web 3.0 area is at a rapid development stage, there are many opportunities to achieve significant success even with a small number of resources. The effect of a strong team and a beautiful idea come to the fore.

4. What are the most crucial points in your daily tasks?

My colleagues invited me to join the team to help improve the operational efficiency of the project. This is the mainstream of daily activities. Especially now, in preparation for the public sale. Organization of work and coordination of different work streams takes up my time every day from morning to night.

5. Is it difficult to prepare and organize everything for the IDO?

I would not use the word “difficult”. It’s not about whether it is difficult or simple. The fact is that many factors are involved in the process, both inside the project and outside it. And yet, I would not limit myself to only IDO. Today, for example, we are also preparing a public sale of project tokens to WL subscribers. Preparing and organizing such processes requires care and planning, coordination and control. Consistency must be achieved and maintained. It is not difficult, but it requires attention, and also experience, which the team does not occupy.

6. Could you tell us about your vision of the future of Fintropy?

I have already said that the successful future of a project depends mainly on two factors: the team and the idea. It seems to me that the idea of ​​the project is interesting, and the project itself is driven by a strong team. Therefore, the project has a very high chance of becoming successful. Of course, nothing can be guaranteed. For example, there is government regulation in different countries, which may change in the near future and hinder the development of the project. Nothing ventured, nothing have☺

7. What does a Fintropy bring to a classic investment and do you think that Fintropy can change the way a classic investment looks?

It can be argued that our project is one of the building blocks that will make up new investment methods. Our project is based on the idea of ​​going beyond a narrow understanding of the role of tokens. The ability to aggregate crypto-assets using portfolio tokens is one of the highlights. But there are other ideas behind this as well. Tokenization of assets of the material world, the use of tokens, including non-fungible ones, as tokens of various trusted distributed registries, the use of tokens of groups of entries in registries (portfolio tokens). These ideas will be used to varying degrees as the project develops. And yes, our project, together with other similar ones, will change the image of classic investment.
